The inaugural Horizon Nonprofit Awardees have been decided, and will be celebrated at the 2020 NKY Philanthropy Symposium on March 17 at the St. Elizabeth Training & Education Center in Erlanger.

Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky will award $50,000 from its Community Impact Fund in 2020, and is seeking letters of intent to kick off the process.  

Horizon Community Funds joins several other Northern Kentucky organizations to plan a first-of-its kind event for the community. 1NKY: Engaging Community in Regional Growth will bring a series of topics to the table that drive Northern Kentucky’s future forward.

Nearly 60 Northern Kentuckians gathered at BLDG headquarters in Covington to give $7,000 to a local charity in a process that took less than an hour. In the end, members voted to give this quarter’s prize to Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center.

Nearly 100 community members involved with The 410 and with the Newport Business Association gathered at New Riff Distilling to present a check for $13,120 to Southbank Partners.

The 410, Horizon Community Funds’ newest giving circle, voted to fund Southbank Partners’ upcoming mural project, which will commemorate the city of Newport’s 225th anniversary in 2020.

 A sold out crowd of hundreds gathered on Tuesday to support and celebrate the work of 14 nonprofits working in Boone, Campbell, and Kenton counties in Northern Kentucky.

The nonprofits each took the stage for just three minutes to describe their work in the community to the audience. In the end, all nonprofits walked out with grant funds. 

The Horizon Community Accelerator is on a mission to end homelessness, $4 at a time. 

The Council of Trustees that governs Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky recently voted to add Barbara Drees Jones and Bob Sathe to serve on the board, effective immediately.

NKY Funders’ Grants, an ongoing program that convenes foundations and funders around grant competitions for nonprofits that serve Northern Kentucky, has released its list of finalists for the pitch competition to be held Tuesday, October 29 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at the St. Elizabeth Training and Education Center in Erlanger.
