One million dollars in tax credits is available to donors making a gift to an endowed fund at a qualified community foundation in Kentucky. Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky, a qualified community foundation, offers a wide variety of endowed funds for donors to consider for contribution.

The Council of Trustees that governs Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky is pleased to announce the addition of Lewis Diaz, Partner at Dinsmore & Shohl, LLP, to the Council.

Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky and Adoption Professionals have partnered to create a new scholarship fund supporting birth mothers pursuing a nursing education. The Mary Garamy Nursing Education Fund was established at Horizon Community Funds to honor the retiring Board President of Adoption Professionals, Mary Garamy, in recognition of her leadership and commitment to the organization and its mission.
Blue North has established the Northern Kentucky Entrepreneurship Fund with Horizon Community Funds in an effort to support the work of entrepreneurs in Northern Kentucky.
A memorial scholarship benefitting Beechwood High School students is now housed with Horizon Community Funds. This scholarship was created after the passing of Jordan McFaull, a graduate of Beechwood’s class of 2007.

Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky will award $90,000 from its Community Impact Fund in 2023 and is seeking letters of intent beginning January 1, 2023. This is the largest Community Impact Fund grant cycle since Horizon Community Funds was founded in 2017, exceeding last year’s $85,000.
